Our relations with India are dated back to the indentured labourers mobilization era where Indians workers first set foot in Fiji around 1863. Since then, Indians have contributed immeasurably to the development of our country and have become an essential and crucial part of Fiji's history and inheritance.

Fiji considers India as its major strategic development partner and is striving to nurture and fortify its bilateral cooperation, trade and investment relations regime.
