INVESTORS from Taiwan have expressed interest in Fiji's agriculture, mahogany and seafood industries.
So much so that a Taiwan Trade and Investment Mission is in the country to explore possible business opportunities.
At a meeting with Trade Ministry and Fiji Islands and Investment Bureau officials, the visitors were reassured of the state's support of foreign investment.
According to a press statement, the visitors were also informed of State initiatives such as the declaration of Vanua Levu and maritime islands as tax-free zones.
This interest comes on the heels of Air Pacific's plans to operate direct flights between Nadi and Hong Kong.
Fiji's trade commissioner to Taiwan, Frances Ligalevu accompanied the 11-member Taiwanese delegation.
